ABOUT ME
Hi there! My name is Angelica - but most people call me Lica - welcome to my blog! Where do I begin...?
I was born in the beautiful seaside resort town of Sochi in Russia and am the daughter of habitual expats (they’ve lived in Dubai, India, Russia…), and can say that my passion for travel has existed since my very first journey overseas, relocating to the UK when I was six years old.
I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t looking forward to my next adventure, be that exploring an unfamiliar part of the UK or an island on the other side of the world. I have a serious case of wanderlust and a deep desire to understand as much as I can about the world we live in, and truly believe that educating yourself through seeing new places and meeting new people is the best way to do just that!
I decided to start recording my travels seriously after being lucky enough to attend a press trip to the Caribbean island of St. Martin while interning at a magazine after graduating from uni. Being able to write up about my time in St. Martin and have my review (and photography!) published in the travel section of the magazine gave me the confidence to pursue making my hobby – travelling – into a blog!
Travel aside, I am also a self-confessed foodie and there is nothing that relaxes me more than cooking up a storm in my kitchen or finding a cool new dining spot to sample. I am so thankful to have been exposed to so many cuisines and flavours from a very young age (cheers mum and dad!). There are very few foods that I wouldn’t try at least once and I will always bring an open mind to the table. I feel like being curious about food also comes in handy when it comes to exploring the world too.
You will often find me doing one of a few things in my spare time:
- Scouring the internet looking for a brand new travel destination to obsess over
- Watching an obscure documentary about a far flung corner of the world
- Brushing up on my cooking skills by creating a new dish from whatever I have in my fridge or tackling an exciting new recipe I’ve found (and tweaking it to fit my taste too!)
- Creating new art pieces for my Etsy shop
My blog is all about the things I love and I’m so excited to share my ideas, adventures and passions with you all.
