Hi there! My name is Angelica—but most people call me Lica—welcome to my blog!
(Quick note: it’s pronounced An-gel-ee-ka, not like the Rugrats character!
And my nickname? It’s Lee-ka. Now that we’ve cleared that up—let’s dive in!)
Where do I begin...?
I was born in the beautiful seaside resort town of Sochi, Russia, and as the daughter of habitual expats (they’ve lived in Dubai, India, Russia…), my love for travel was inevitable.
My first big adventure came when my family relocated to the UK when I was just six years old, marking the beginning of my journey to understand the world and my place in it.
Since then, I haven’t stopped exploring—whether it’s discovering hidden gems in the UK or venturing to the other side of the world. Travel isn’t just something I do; it’s a part of who I am.
A Life of Wanderlust
In 2022 and 2023, I took on two of my most exciting adventures yet—backpacking through South America and Southeast Asia.
⛰️South America reignited my love for the outdoors—hiking through dramatic mountain landscapes, immersing myself in nature, and learning from the rich cultures of indigenous communities. The sheer beauty and diversity of the continent left a lasting mark on me.
🍜 Southeast Asia, on the other hand, completely reinvigorated my spirit. The warmth and kindness of the people, the vibrant energy, and—of course—the incredible food have stayed with me. I now find myself recreating my favorite Southeast Asian dishes every week!
🏡 Along the way, I’ve also developed a fascination for unique stays and quirky accommodations—whether it’s a treehouse in the jungle, a boutique cave hotel, or a floating bungalow. Finding places with character and charm is always a highlight of my travels!
🐘Ethical wildlife experiences are another passion of mine. I believe in responsible animal encounters that respect nature and the well-being of the creatures we’re so lucky to share this planet with. From observing wildlife in their natural habitat to supporting conservation efforts, I strive to travel in a way that is both meaningful and sustainable.
Through it all, I’ve now explored over 40 countries—and I have no plans of slowing down.
Why This Blog?
My journey as a travel writer started after an unforgettable press trip to St. Martin while working at a magazine post-university. Seeing my travel review and photography published gave me the confidence to turn my passion for adventure into something more—this blog!
Moving forward, my mission is to:
